Coach Luis Enrique is still waiting for Kylian Mbappe to confirm his future at PSG

Almost everyone thinks Mbappe will join Real Madrid when the 2023/24 season ends, but coach Enrique is still waiting for official information.

WHAT HAPPENED?

PSG coach Luis Enrique is still waiting to hear Kylian Mbappe’s future plans after watching the striker score twice to reverse the situation and win against Barcelona in the Champions League second leg, putting PSG into the semi-finals.

Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid at the end of the season but he has not yet made an official announcement about his future. There are rumors that the transfer will be announced after the two clubs are no longer able to meet in the Champions League this season. PSG will face Borussia Dortmund next for a place in the final, while Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich in the other group.

Coach Luis Enrique may be waiting for a decision from Mbappe but he seems ready to prepare for life without the Frenchman. He left Mbappe on the bench a lot this season so that the team could “get used to” playing without Mbappe. Luis Enrique has also suggested that Mbappe could stay at PSG this season, although it still appears he wants to join Real Madrid once his contract expires in the summer.

WHAT DOES COACH LUIS ENRIQUE SAY?

Coach Enrique told reporters: “Let’s wait and see what Mbappe says about his future. When he and PSG make everything public, we will see. It’s like a process. Until Mbappe himself announces, I’m just waiting and keeping quiet.”

Luis Enrique also continued to praise Mbappe for his performance: “Mbappe was the leader of the team in the match against Barca, that cannot be denied. The whole team applied very good pressure, both Kylian and Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola. When Mbappe leads the attack, the team is much stronger. That’s what we want. That’s proof that he can be the leader of PSG, and when Kylian does that That makes us even better.”

Mbappe will continue with PSG until the end of the season and hopes to lead the club to its first Champions League championship. PSG is also very close to winning the Ligue 1 championship as the team is currently leading the table with a difference of 10 points.
