Alia Bhatt made India proud once again when she walked the red carpet of the Met Gala 2024 on Tuesday, May 7. The actress looked prettiest in a floral Sabyasachi saree with a matching train and grabbed everyone’s attention. It has now been reported that the Bollywood diva has also become the ‘most visible’ celebrity at the Met Gala, surpassing several prominent globally popular names.
As per a report by the influencer marketing platform Lefty, Alia Bhatt left behind Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and others to become the most visible attendee when she walked inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has also surpassed Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Cardi B and Doja Cat to rule the list.
This was Alia Bhatt’s second Met Gala appearance. During her red carpet interview with Vogue, Alia expressed her excitement to represent India in a saree and said, “I’m feeling great. I’m feeling very excited. Months of preparation, lots of conversations and all builds up to this one moment. It’s so surreal but it’s also very special. It’s my second time at the Met, but my first time wearing a saree. When I thought of the dress code, ‘Garden of Time’, I felt it needed something timeless and there’s nothing timeless than a saree.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Jigra. is not just playing the lead in Jigra but is also producing it. Previously, in an interview with Film Companion, the actress opened up about venturing into production and shared that it is ‘exciting and overwhelming’ at the same time.
“I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time,” she said.
Besides Jigra, Alia will soon also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. However, recent unconfirmed reports suggest that the film has been put on hold for now. Alia will also be headlining YRF’s Spy Universe movie. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ in her pipeline with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
