Brittany Matthews, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has said she wants an apology from those who doubted the team’s chances of winning the Lombardi Trophy this season.
‘I think a lot of people need to apologize for what they said about this team at the beginning of this season,’ she posted on Twitter followed by multiple laughing emojis.
Matthews also posted a picture on her Instagram with the caption ‘Bought this outfit to wear to the Super Bowl while I was pregnant. Glad it fit & Knew we were gonna be there!’
Her statements holds similarities to ones made by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce following Kanas City’s 38-35 victory.

The Chiefs won the game 38-35 due to a second half comeback and go-ahead field goal
‘Not one of y’all said the Chiefs were gonna take it home this year,’ Kelce shouted during the post-game celebrations. ‘Not a single one. Feel that s***, feel it.’.
Throughout most of the season many analysts considered the Chiefs as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, though it was not something unanimously agreed upon.
Many harped on the fact the Kansas City was not a strong unit defensively and that their defense would not be able to hold up when it counted the most in clutch situations.
Others pointed out the fact that after the team traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, they lacked another key option in the passing game to go along with tight end Travis Kelce.
Mahomes himself put forth a heroic effort to lead a second half comeback when it appeared that the high ankle sprain he was playing through had been aggravated just before halftime.
After coming out in the second half Mahomes came up with several clutch running plays in key situations as it appeared that whatever pain he was in was no longer an issue.
The game was not decided until late in the fourth quarter when a holding penalty against Eagles cornerback James Bradberry, gifted the Chiefs was perfect field position to run out the remainder of the clock and kick a game winning field goal.
Many have been wondering exactly what the victorious players got up to after leaving the field, and Mahomes was happy to lift the lid during his appearance in Los Angeles with late-night TV host Kimmel.
‘We started off with a nice party at the hotel, the Chainsmokers came through, DJ Khaled came through, you can’t beat that man – that’s every genre of music you need right there,’ he explained.

‘We had a little afterparty after that too, you just get the guys together man, to celebrate. I get one day off to get my rest and then the parade on Wednesday. Chiefs Kingdom, I’ll see you there.’
When asked who the ‘most valuable partier’ was in the squad, Mahomes was quick to name one man: Travis Kelce.
Given the game finished late in Arizona, and Mahomes then went on to the after-parties, before being spotted at Disneyland with his family, many have been wondering just how much sleep the star quarterback has managed to get in.
Incredibly, he explained that he was yet to go to bed since playing in the game, instead grabbing a quick nap in the car between Disneyland and Kimmel’s ABC show.
Such was the brilliance of the performance in Arizona, Kimmel asked Mahomes whether he planned on watching the game back, with the QB responding: ‘When I get a free minute, imma go and watch it.
‘I’ll watch it once, maybe twice… and then I’ll go and try and win another one.’
