Blade” is an upcoming American superhero film based on the character of the same name from Marvel Comics.

The film is set to be the 38th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a reboot of the Blade film series. It is being produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is directed by Jan DeManj, with the screenplay written by Michael Starrberry, Nick Pizzolatto, and Michael Green, and stars Mahershala Ali in the titular role. In 2016, Ali discussed the possibility of portraying a new version of Blade, and in February 2019, he directly addressed the studio leadership with his idea. The development of the film and Ali’s involvement were officially announced in July 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con. In February 2021, Stacy Osei-Kuffour became a writer on the project, and in September of the same year, Bassam Tariq was hired as director but withdrew the project a year later due to scheduling conflicts. DeManj and Starrberry joined in November 2022. Pizzolatto joined in April 2023, and by November, Green was hired to write a new screenplay. Filming will take place at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, as well as in Cleveland, New Orleans, and Morocco.
