Kevin Durant, Tom Brady, and A-List Stars Attend Daniil Medvedev defeated reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz to compete against Novak Djokovic for the US Open championship

Many athletes and celebrities, including 2-time NBA Champion Kevin Durant and 7-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, were in attendance to witness the Russian superstar take his place in the US Open final.

After the World No. 2 Novak Djokovic beat the 20-year-old sensation Ben Shelton in the first semi-final, the fans were excited to see who the 36-year-old legend would face in the final match. The second semi-final match between World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev turned out to be a one-sided affair. The 27-year-old dominated the Defending Champion 7-6, 6-1, 3-6. 6-3.

Kevin Durant and Other Stars Came to New York

The US Open semi-final match took place in the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. The tournament this year was dominated by young talent, with two 20-year-old superstars reaching the top four. Ben Shelton’s Cinderella story came to an end when the 3-time US Open winner Novak Djokovic beat him 6-3, 6-2, 7-6. After securing his place in the finals, Djokovic was eager to find out which opponent would stand between him and his 4th US Open Title.

Another 20-year-old prodigy, Carlos Alcaraz, tried to make a historic comeback against Russian player Daniil Medvedev. But Medvedev’s experience proved too much for the World No. 1 to handle. Even though Alcaraz won the US Open in 2022, he could not go back-to-back. Several athletes made their way to the Arthur Ashe Stadium to witness the thrilling encounter.

The Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant and the NFL legend Tom Brady looked on as Alcaraz tried to pull off the biggest comeback of his young career.

Even Hollywood celebrities showed up to see the best tennis players in the world compete. Actor Jared Leto sat beside The Slim Reaper to witness the match.

The Sunday Showdown

After the thrilling semi-final matches, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev secured their place in the final. Medvedev won his first US Open title in 2021, defeating Djokovic in dominant fashion. But the 3-time US Open Champion would want the outcome to be in his favor this time.

Djokovic last won the US Open in 2018 and has been craving to get his hands back on the trophy for 5 years. This is his opportunity to beat the World No. 3 Medvedev and win his 4th US Open title.

There is no doubt that the final match between Djokovic and Medvedev will be a historic encounter. Fans can also expect many famous athletes and celebrities to show up in New York City to witness the crowning of the 2023 US Open Champion.
