‘He’ll Be Great For Us’: John Terry Now Confident £50m Player Can Deliver For Chelsea This Season

Chelsea legend John Terry thinks Raheem Sterling can be a great asset to the Blues this season.

Raheem Sterling has been arguably Chelsea’s best attacker in the new campaign and Terry has urged him to continue being direct with his play.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Blues captain said: “People like Gabs [Gabby Agbonlahor] and Sterling, when they run in behind it’s difficult. I think if he continues to do that, he’ll be great for us this year.”

The 28-year-old is Chelsea’s top scorer this term thanks to his brace in his club’s 3-0 win against Luton Town, which is their only Premier League victory so far.

Despite Sterling’s impressive form, he was left out of the England squad for their games against Ukraine and Scotland.

Chelsea’s main man right now

At present, Sterling is the one who is really driving Chelsea’s attack.

The Blues have a lot of talent in that area of the pitch but, with Mykhailo Mudryk struggling for form and Christopher Nkunku out injured, the England international is the Blues’ key forward right now.

It is clear to see, though, that Sterling’s efforts alone will not be enough, with Chelsea currently sitting 12th in the Premier League table.

If Mauricio Pochettino’s men are to finish in the top four this season, then others are going to have to step up and not solely rely on the former Manchester City star, who arrived at Stamford Bridge last year in a £50m deal.

Hopefully, then, Nicolas Jackson and Nkunku, when he returns to first-team action, can help their team-mate out in attack as the campaign goes on. They have got to in order to get Chelsea back to where they once were.
