Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are over the moon with the signing of Kendry Paez made this summer.
He took to YouTube to state that the Blues are pleased that they managed to beat a host of top clubs to the signing of the 16-year-old.
Paez made history this week when he represented Ecuador at a young age. He beat Pele’s record for being the youngest player to register an assist on the international stage.

He starred alongside Moises Caicedo in the midfield for his nation as they defeated Uruguay 2-1. Both Blues picked up assists.
Despite spending £17m on a player 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 as late as 2007, it seems the Blues are really happy with their addition.

He said: “What they did in March/April was complete a deal to sign Kendry Paez. The reality is we have two fantastic stars on the international stage 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2007. Chelsea are very happy with the deal they have for Kendry Paez.
“He made history again for Ecuador. The youngest ever South American to play in a qualifying game for a World Cup. He provided an assist, because he is a very good player.

“Many clubs around Europe wanted him around January, but Chelsea were very fast and closed the deal thanks to people on the board travelling to South America and reaching an agreement.
“One for the future, and Chelsea believe they got a proper gem in Kendry Paez with that silent deal that now becomes really interesting to follow.”
While he won’t be able to feature until 2025, there is already plenty of excitement over what he can do at Stamford Bridge.
