Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes were high school sweethearts – which means their throwback photos are extra-adorable

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, met Brittany Matthews in high school, and the two began dating in 2012 when he was a sophomore and she was a junior. The two, both elite athletes throughout school, soon started going to prom, each other’s games, and doing things like “just a normal teenage kid showing up at the family dinner type stuff and being nervous and everything,” as Patrick recalled to Today.

Their relationship stayed strong through college, and now the two, who wed in in 2021, are parents to daughter Sterling and son Bronze, and have supported each other through career milestones, Super Bowl wins and having matching moments with Taylor Swift.

But before the massive spotlight and the MVP honors, the two were just adorable teens. Look back at some of their cutest throwback photos together.

The couple celebrated two years together on March 31, 2014, with a photo taken at Patrick’s basketball game. (The two were accomplished athletes, with him playing football, basketball and baseball and her eventually going pro for soccer.
