Sir Jim Ratcliffe is preparing for Man United’s long-term future and could reportedly look to see high-earning stars depart Old Trafford
Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Nassr are reportedly lining up a huge bid for Manchester United star Casemiro.
United are preparing for another squad overhaul in the summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s shake-up at Old Trafford is set to continue in the coming weeks, and offloading some of the club’s high-earning stars is reportedly one of the priorities.
Casemiro is understood to be the top earner on a reported £375,000-a-week and the midfielder will turn 32 next month. He had been sidelined with a hamstring injury since October before recently being named as an unused substitute in the 2-2 Premier League draw against Tottenham.
United are said to want to recoup a chunk of the £70million fee paid to Real Madrid in the summer of 2022. According to the Daily Mail, Al-Nassr are ready to make an ‘audacious’ bid for the experienced Brazilian to join his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Under contract for another two years, it is believed the Reds would need to fork out approximately £20m to the Brazilian to cancel his contract early.
Elsewhere, Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the United hierarchy are strongly interested in Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer. The 28-year-old completed the £45m move from Torino in the summer of 2022.
Raphael Varane’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air which could prompt United to make a move after Erik ten Hag missed out on the opportunity to sign another defender last year.
Di Marzio adds that United have been tracking him for several months and are expected to make a move in the summer. Bremer, who is under contract until 2028, is a key player for Massimiliano Allegri, having started in all 21 Serie A games this season.
