On Instagram, he shared a throwback video of him flexing his back muscles compared to how his body looks now.

“From my parent’s bedroom to the big stage,” Bumstead wrote.

“Obviously this is one of those very dramatic transformations as I was only 20 in the first video, BUT I was still told for years later that my back was my weakest body part and it would always hold me back.

“I like to believe it’s much better now, at least people don’t say it sucks as much anymore so I am proud of that.”

Bumstead’s fans praised him in the comments with some saying that even his physique at 20 was impressive.

‘”I was only 20,’ proceeds to show us a godlike physique,” wrote one person.

“We’re all like 25-30 trying to even come close from Chris at 20,” wrote another person.

A third wrote, “What I think I look like at night posing in my bedroom.”

Bumstead used to be a skinny kid before he started working out in high school, gaining 55 pounds in one year and bulking to 225 pounds by his senior year.

By that time, he was doing sets of squats weighing over 405 pounds.

Bumsetead began competing in bodybuilding events in 2014 when he was 19 years old.

Within two years, he won the IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championship.

Now, he’s a five-time Mr. Olympia Classic Physique winner, placing first each year since 2019.

He often shares his progress and personal life on Instagram, where he has nearly 24 million followers.

On April 22, 2024, Bumstead and his wife welcomed their daughter, Bradley Shay.

“We love you 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 girl, more than you’ll ever know,” Bumstead wrote.

“Congrats, brother,” wrote Terry Crews.

“The most wonderful gift of life for sure,” wrote another person.

“Congratulations Chris and Courtney.”

A third wrote, “Welcome to the dad club!”
