From The Hunger Games to Mother!, Jennifer Lawrence has the acting chops to tackle any role. But there’s one part the Oscar winner didn’t land, and she has frenemy Emma Stone to blame.
The real-life besties participated in The Hollywood Reporter’s annual actress round table today, and things got a little awkward when Stone quoted a line from her 2010 film Easy A.
It turns out, Lawrence auditioned for the lead (which went to Stone) before she was Hollywood’s favorite goofball and didn’t make the cut. “I wanted it so bad,” J.Law recalled.
Stone, never one to pass up the opportunity to poke fun at her sister from another mister, quipped back, “Well, guess what? You didn’t get it. You didn’t get it because you suck!” Way harsh, Emma.
On the other hand, Lawrence, never one to be intimidated, jokingly clapped back at Stone, saying, “Outside!”
If the two leading ladies weren’t such good friends, fellow round-table actresses Mary J. Blige, Allison Janney, Jessica Chastain and Saoirse Ronan may have had to step in.
