Gary Payton II has opted in for his contract with the Golden State Warriors.
According to Kendra Andrews of ESPN, the guard has picked up his player option on his $9.1 million contract with the Warriors.
With this, Payton will have the “flexibility” to pursue an extension with the Golden State team.
The guard has been with the GSW since 2020 after having previously played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, and Portland Trail Blazers.
This year, which has been underwhelming for the Golden State Warriors, Payton averaged 5.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
