The Phoenix Mercury hosted the Indiana Fever on Sunday for a primetime matchup between Caitlin Clark and Diana Taurasi. Clark and the Fever helped attract the Mercury’s biggest crowd of the season, drawing over 17,000 fans, including NBA superstar Devin Booker.
Booker was seen courtside at the matchup, sitting next to Phoenix Suns and Mercury majority owner Mat Ishbia. The four-time NBA All-Star has been with the Suns since 2015 and has always embraced the culture in the desert.
Indiana walked away with the 88-82 victory. Clark finished the game with 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds, while Taurasi posted 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

The rise in viewership of the WNBA has been evident all season. Various special guests have attended games, drawing new eyes to the league. Some of the guests seen courtside this season include Sauce Gardner, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Bam Adebayo, Damian Lillard, and Booker.
Following Sunday’s loss, Taurasi spoke about Clark’s aid in the league’s growth since it’s been clear all year that the WNBA’s popularity has shifted.
Phoenix will be back on the hardwood tomorrow for a matchup against the Connecticut Sun at 10:00 ET, while Clark and the Fever will travel to Las Vegas for a game against the Aces on Tuesday at 9:30 ET.
