Real Madrid have announced their 2024/25 shirt numbers with many notable changes, as superstar Kylian Mbappe will wear the legendary number 9 shirt, but young talent Endrick’s shirt number remains a mystery.
Real Madrid have just revealed their shirt number list for the 2024/25 season with many notable changes, reflecting the generational transition and the club’s great ambitions for the new season.
The centre of attention is Kylian Mbappe, the French star who has just joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after ending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
The biggest highlight of this announcement is the confirmation of the shirt number of Kylian Mbappe – the blockbuster transfer that Real Madrid officially acquired ahead of Euro 2024. The French star will wear the number 9 shirt, an iconic number that has been vacant since Karim Benzema left in 2023.

This is a significant change for Mbappe, who has previously worn the No. 10 shirt for the national team and the No. 7 at Paris Saint-Germain. In fact, Mbappe has only worn the No. 9 shirt once in his career, in February 2017 in a Coupe de France match.
Mbappe’s appointment with the number 9 shirt is not only a reflection of his importance to the Real Madrid squad, but also a smart marketing move by the club. With a reported salary of €15 million a year, Real Madrid will surely hope to recoup a significant portion of the Frenchman’s salary through shirt sales.

Besides Mbappe, many other players in the Real Madrid squad also have changes in shirt numbers. Federico Valverde will inherit the number 8 shirt from Toni Kroos after the German midfielder retires. Arda Guler – one of the outstanding young stars at Euro 2024, will switch from number 24 to number 15.
Eduardo Camavinga has been promoted to No. 6, replacing departing captain Nacho Fernandez. Aurelien Tchouameni will wear No. 14, while Jesus Vallejo will take No. 18 after returning from Granada.
However, it is worth noting that there is still one name that has not been confirmed for a shirt number – that is young Brazilian talent Endrick. The club is waiting for the official appearance of this 17-year-old player before announcing.
According to El Chiringuito TV, Endrick is likely to wear the number 16 shirt, although this has not been officially confirmed by Real Madrid as the player is not yet 18 years old to sign a professional contract.

The unveiling of new shirt numbers is not just a routine procedure, but also reflects Real Madrid’s strategy and vision for the upcoming season. The Royal team is building a squad that combines top stars like Mbappe with promising young talents like Endrick, Guler and Camavinga. This promises to bring a strong and successful season for Los Blancos.
As the 2024/25 season prepares to kick off, all eyes will be on Real Madrid to see if they can translate this massive investment into success on the pitch. With a star-studded squad and a sustainable development strategy, Real Madrid are laying the foundations for a new era of success at the Santiago Bernabeu.
