Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along might have just introduced the perfect way for the Scarlet Witch’s much-anticipated return to the MCU to be explained. As the first official spinoff from 2021’s WandaVision, Agatha All Along’s storyline has been heavily influenced by Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch, even though she hasn’t made a physical appearance in the new MCU series. Not only has the aftermath of the Scarlet Witch’s Westview takeover been explored, but the trouble she caused Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness has also been detailed, and one of her superpowered sons made his triumphant return.
Julian Hilliard portrayed Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. the young Wiccan, in WandaVision, but he ceased to exist when the Scarlet Witch dismantled her magical Hex around Westview, New Jersey. Agatha All Along saw Billy Maximoff return to the MCU, however, only now he is portrayed by Heartstopper star Joe Locke. This dramatic change was explained in Agatha All Along episode 6, “Familiar By Thy Side,” which may have presented Marvel Studios with a fantastic way to explain the Scarlet Witch’s return, despite her demise in the MCU’s Phase 4.
