An exciting update reveals the filming widow for Avengers: Doomsday. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally see the release of a new Avengers movie after the team’s long absence in the Multiverse Saga. While only a few updates about Avengers: Doomsday’s story have been shared so far, the movie is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s biggest releases. Robert Downey Jr. returns to the franchise, now playing Doctor Doom. He will serve as the film’s main villain, and more story details and casting news should start to come out soon, as Avengers: Doomsday will film early next year.
According to Collider, Avengers: Doomsday is going to start filming in Spring 2025. One of the movie’s directors, Joe Russo, also revealed during an interview at New York Comic Con that a start date is already set, though he did not specify when that would be. The film will be the first for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. After Kang the Conqueror star Jonathan Majors was fired, the project was overhauled, abandoning its original title, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and turning to RDJ as Doctor Doom to serve as the film’s biggest draw.
