Proud Father LeBron James Uses Boys II Men Reference to Pen Emotional Message for Sons Bryce and Bronny James

Apart from his devotion to the game, LeBron James, 38, is a dedicated husband to his wife Savannah James, and father to his three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri. The 6’9″ Lakers star spends a lot of time with his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren and shares a close bond with each of them.

With his two sons, he has something in common – they share a love for basketball. The three are known to connect over some “boys’ time.” In a recent Instagram story posted by LeBron that has melted the hearts of many, he compares himself and his two sons to the 4-time Grammy-winning trio group Boyz II Men.

There’s nothing LeBron wouldn’t do to protect his boys

The story features two photos. The first one is a throwback picture of LeBron wearing a blue suit and holding two MVP trophies, one in each hand. Proud and smiling, young Bronny and Bryce are standing in front. The second picture is a more recent one, of Bron standing between his two sons who are no longer small boys, his arms over their shoulders.

Bron wrote, “Raising Boyz II Men! Nothing I wouldn’t do to protect yall“, and tagged both Bronny and Bryce in the story. The story showcases the deep connection that he shares with his sons; and the ever-lasting love that he has for them, as he promises to protect them no matter what. The creative reference to the band is no accident; Bron has his own fair share of history with the trio.

Bron’s association with Boyz II Men

LeBron has a history with the band that can never be forgotten by NBA fans. We go back to the dreadful days of late January 2020, when an unexpected helicopter crash took the lives of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, along with seven others. The world watched in shock as a tribute was held at the Staples Center. As the Boyz II Men trio sang the national anthem, a very emotional LeBron James can be seen holding back tears.

In this way, Bron will always share a deep connection with the trio. The reference brings together two emotional moments for the basketball icon. LeBron’s story echoes a sentiment that can be seen in all facets of his life.

In fact, he dedicated his 21st NBA season to his first son, Bronny. Bronny had suffered a cardiac arrest during basketball training with his college team. Although LeBron was pretty shaken up by this incident, Bronny fortunately seems to be recovering quite well. LeBron had also said previously that he would spend his last year in the NBA with his first son on the court.
