Anne Hathaway proves herself a style icon as she wows in a houndstooth jacket ahead of The View appearance

Anne Hathaway looked typically chic in a houndstooth jacket over a white minidress and semi-sheer black tights while arriving to The View talk show in New York City.

While promoting her upcoming period drama film, Armageddon Time, which comes out this month, the Oscar winner, 39, proved she is worthy of her style icon status.

In addition to a fresh, bouncy blow-out, the mother-of-two, who is married to Adam Shulman, sported a pair of oversized cat-eye sunglasses and knee-high black leather boots.

Her glamorous makeup look included a nude lipstick, blush and bronzer for a sun-kissed and healthy glow.

Last month, Hathaway was seated next to Anna Wintour a fashion show, 16 years after starring in The Devil Wears Prada, based on the longtime editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine.

For the occasion, the Ocean’s 8 actress even seemed to recreate one of her most iconic looks from the movie with her glossy brunette tresses pulled into a sleek ponytail and a dark brown leather jacket.

Wintour, who was famously portrayed by Meryl Streep, wore a long sleeve black dress with large white flowers that was cinched in at her trim waist.

In footage of the trio sitting side-by-side, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, 40, and Wintour appeared engrossed in conversation with just each other as the Les Misérables star admired the fashion of other attendees.

The Devil Wears Prada follows Hathaway as the mousey assistant to the editor-in-chief of a prestigious fashion magazine (Streep), who finds her personal life unraveling as her career takes off.

In 2021, the film’s director David Frankel revealed that Hathaway was not his first choice as leading lady.

‘We started negotiating with Annie to make a deal, and that didn’t go well with the studio,’ the filmmaker told Entertainment Weekly. ‘We offered it to Rachel McAdams three times.’

He quipped: ‘The studio was determined to have her, and she was determined not to do it.’

Groundbreaking: Last month, fans went wild when the actress was seated next to Anna Wintour at the Michael Kors’ Spring/Summer fashion show, 16 years after starring in The Devil Wears Prada, based on the longtime editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine

Meanwhile, Hathaway refused to take ‘no’ for an answer as she met with Elizabeth Gabler, then the head of Fox 2000 studio, to discuss ‘why she had to play this role.’

Gabler praised Hathaway for her persistent ‘campaigning’ and divulged the actress left a hilarious message for Carla Hacken [Fox executive] in her Zen garden, which read: ‘Hire me.’

Frankel also noted that after Streep watched Hathaway’s brief performance in Brokeback Mountain, she wanted to ‘meet with her’ and predicted they would ‘work well together.’

‘I patiently waited until it was my turn, and I got the call. It was the easiest yes in the world,’ Hathaway gushed. ‘I remember the moment I found out I got the part, I just ran screaming through my apartment.’

She added: ‘I had a bunch of friends over at the time, I just jumped up in the living room and screamed, “I’m going to be in The Devil Wears Prada!”‘

Previously, Hathaway shocked viewers by revealing she was actually the ninth choice to star in The Devil Wears Prada.

Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, Kirsten Dunst, Juliette Lewis and Claire Danes were all also considered to play Andy Sachs.

Based on a true story: The Devil Wears Prada, which follows Hathaway as a personal assistant struggling to please her boss—magazine editor, Miranda Priestly (Streep)—without losing herself, grossed more than $201,965,442 at the global box; seen in the 2006 film
