As the golden retriever puppy named Rae grew older, her remaining ear started to move up her head. She has become an internet sensation on Instagram with the handle @GoldenUnicornRae due to her unique appearance. Her left ear was accidentally nipped off by her mother while trying to open her amniotic sac shortly after 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡. Rae underwent stitches from the top of her head down to her face and neck at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The mother dog’s owners surrendered her, and Vorhees, a receptionist at the vet hospital, took the opportunity to adopt Rae and give her a loving home.

A puppy with an extra tail on his head, resembling a unicorn horn, was rescued by a team and named ‘Narwhal’. The puppy was in critical condition and was given round-the-clock care, including bottle feedings. As the puppy grew older, one of its ears started to move upwards, giving it a unique and adorable look that made it famous on Instagram. The puppy now has over 51,000 followers and counting.

According to Vorhees, even though Rae’s ear doesn’t line up with her ear canal, the canine still appears to have a functioning sense of hearing as she responds to vocal cues and her name. Vorhees added that they have no idea how the distant ear still works, but they’re content knowing that it does. Rae won’t be losing her unique “horn” since it doesn’t cause her any discomfort or harm. Additionally, as Rae continues to grow, she’s also developing quite the personality. In another remarkable development, a dog is learning how to communicate using a customized soundboard. The owner is amazed at the progress made by the dog.
