The Tunica Humane Society was overjoyed to announce in August that Buddy’s bandages had finally been removed, four months after he was rescued. Williams shared on Facebook that Buddy’s newly exposed skin looked pink and that there was a possibility he might not grow fur on the areas where he received skin grafts. Nevertheless, the organization remained hopeful and excited to see his complete face, furry or not. They firmly believe that Buddy will still be perfect regardless of his appearance.

Buddy’s mood has significantly improved after the bandages were taken off. He’s been quite lively and is enjoying playing fetch and with his toys. It’s clear that he’s much happier now and has regained his playful nature from before he got hurt. Although the sheriff’s office was able to obtain a statement from the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, Mississippi state law prohibits pressing criminal charges against 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren under the age of 12.
