Kylian Mbappe Reacts After Sergio Ramos Makes Huge Salary Sacrifice at Sevilla FC

PSG star Kylian Mbappe recently displayed his bond with former teammate Sergio Ramos following the latter’s move to his old club Sevilla FC.

Both Mbappe and Ramos have shared a close bond since the arrival of the Spaniard. The bond between the former teammates could be seen as the French captain recently shared a heartwarming message for Ramos on social media.

Kylian Mbappe reposted Sevilla’s announcement about signing Ramos as their new player. The PSG star wrote on his Instagram story, “Good luck, my friend. The king is back.”

Ramos was one of the many players, like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr., who decided to leave Parc des Princes this summer. The 37-year-old wrote in his social media post, “Thank you for two special years in which I was able [to] play in every tournament and give my all. I will face new challenges, I will wear other colors, but first, and for the last time: ¡#AllezParis!”

Ramos departed from the club as a free agent after his contract with the Ligue 1 club expired this summer. The player had scored six goals and had registered one assist to his name in his 58 appearances for the club.

The Spanish international had lucrative offers from the Saudi giants Al-Ittihad on his table, along with Turkish club Galatasaray. However, he decided to opt for a salary cut to play for Sevilla and return to La Liga.

Sergio Ramos on his return to his boyhood club Sevilla

The 2010 World Cup winner signed for his former club, Sevilla, as a free agent just before the end of the summer transfer window.

In a heartfelt message, Ramos shared his gratitude for his boyhood club. He shared, “Fate has given it to me. I return home 18 years later. It was not only a debt I owed to myself but also to my family, to my grandfather, who made me a Sevillista since I was a little boy, to my father, and to Puerta.”

His one-year contract at the Spanish side allows him to pocket around $1.1 million annually, which is reportedly 15 times less than what the Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad had offered this summer.

The Sevilla academy graduate had appeared in just 49 matches for the club before he made his sensational move to the La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2005.

The former Real Madrid star had scored 101 goals in his 671 appearances alongside helping them to win several major domestic and European titles in his 16 years stint at the Los Blancos. He eventually left the club for the French club PSG in 2021.
