Grammy-award winning artist Lizzo has flexed her residential muscle, upgrading from her previous residence at Echo Park, to a sprawling mid-century-treehouse inspired home with a deep musical provenance. Joining countless other stars in the Beverly Hills area, the house was first purchased by Harry Styles in 2014, Styles then sold it on to the design team Simo Design, made up of husband and wife Alexi Rennalls and Sam Gnatovich. The pair knocked down much of the original house to make way for the glamorous mansion we see today. Once completed, the pair then sold it to Aaron Bay-Schuck, a music executive and now CEO of Warner Records, who reignited its musical connection. Schuck lived in the home for under three years, making very few changes to the Simo Design plan, and now Schck has sold it on again to Lizzo for around $24 million.
The house itself extends over 490 square metres, with only three bedrooms in its L-shape design. Each bedroom boasts an interior that would be just as at home on an island resort, living up to its luxury-treehouse aesthetic. The master bedroom receives endless natural light, with its floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the nearby canyon and hillside. If the views aren’t enough, it’s also got its own fireplace and seating area, alongside its large walk-in closet and bathroom.
The rest of the home is made up of multi-purpose rooms that could operate as anything from an office space to a yoga studio. With one room overlooking the courtyard with more floor-to-ceiling windows. Of course, the home also features a soundproof media room, a fitting addition for its musician resident. The modern kitchen contrasts its monolithic quartzite marble benchtop with wooden accents, both darker walnut and a softer honey-coloured wood. Its stovetop nestled just under yet another window overlooking the surrounding woodland area.
Just underneath the cantilevered master bedroom section is a mid-century design staple: a spacious outdoor living and entertaining area. The backyard features a stretch of lawn that blends seamlessly into the swimming pool area, which itself is hugged by a spa and sunbathing areas.
