Asmir Begovic is certain Declan Rice would have been a much better signing for Chelsea this summer than Moises Caicedo.
There were some huge transfers across the Premier League during the recent summer transfer window, especially in the midfield positions.
Arsenal broke their own record by signing Declan Rice for £105million (Sky Sports) from West Ham.
Meanwhile, Chelsea smashed the British record by coughing up £115million (Sky Sports) to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
If you’re judging things at this very early stage of the season, Arsenal definitely look like they’ve won the battle of the expensive midfielders.

Begovic, who spent a couple of years at Chelsea, suggests his former club messed up this summer in their recruitment.
“If you’re spending £115m on Caicedo, surely you spend £120m on Declan Rice,” Begovic told The Byline.
“I don’t know Declan personally. Sure, I’m not saying he doesn’t want to play for Arsenal, but hand on heart I would think he would want to go to Chelsea.
“How is Declan Rice going somewhere else? This is the player.
“I’m not saying I don’t like Enzo Fernandez, but if we’re going to spend £230million on Fernandez and Caicedo, I’d like Declan Rice instead.”

Arsenal and England star Rice, who’s 24, looks at the peak of his powers right now.
The ‘world class’ midfielder did receive links in the transfer rumour mill to Chelsea, but he’s now making a big impression across London in red.
As for Caicedo, he needs to try get over a mixed start to his Blues career where he’s looked miles from his best. It would be foolish to write off the 21-year-old midfielder yet, though.
