Mbappe’s mother: ‘We will meet PSG in court if there is no other way’

Kylian Mbappe’s mother confirmed that the French superstar’s separation from PSG was not a happy one, and that there is still a conflict between the two sides over Mbappe’s salary during his time at the club.

In a recent interview with Le Parisien, Fayza Lamari – mother and advisor to football superstar Kylian Mbappe – shared many interesting information about her son’s transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Real Madrid. This interview took place just one day after Mbappe’s grand presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, where more than 80,000 fans welcomed him, another club record.

Fayza Lamari could not hide her emotions when recalling the moment her son wore the Real Madrid shirt for the first time. She shared: “When he was only 5 years old, Kylian talked about playing for Real. I thought he was crazy. All of Mbappe’s idols were there and he wanted to imitate them.” This was truly a dream come true for the young Mbappe.

However, the transfer process has not been straightforward. Fayza Lamari compares it to an emotional divorce: “What happened in Paris was like a separation. When we parted, at this point, we only thought about the negative things. But our role is not to look back, but to let time pass, so that Kylian only remembers the positive things of last year in Paris, and there were many positive things.”

However, there is still an unresolved issue between Mbappé and PSG: unpaid bonuses and wages. Fayza Lamari said:

“Everything is now in the hands of Kylian’s representatives. But I trust PSG that everything will return to normal very quickly. We have just received a response letter from them. Decisions will be made.”

She also did not rule out the possibility of having to resolve the issue in court if necessary: ” If we have no other choice, we will have to go to court. However, I really hope that the contract we signed two years ago will be respected.”

Fayza Lamari insists that Kylian was always honest throughout the process: “Kylian never lied. He always told the president (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi) that one day he would come to Real. Of course, Kylian probably didn’t do well afterwards, but I believe we were always honest.”

When asked about Mbappe’s ability to adapt at Real Madrid, Fayza Lamari was very optimistic: “I believe that everything will go very, very well. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Mbappe will win every title, but I believe that it will be successful.

The players in the team are the best in the world, they have known each other for a long time. If you come to a club like that without humility, it won’t work.”
