This came as a surprise to everyone. The Golden State Warriors revealed that they were very interested in drafting Bronny James, the son of LeBron James and shatter the dreams of both of them playing together in the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, the team decided to respect LeBron’s wishes to help his son make his dream of playing with him in the NBA come true, according to sources. Bronny James, considered one of the emerging talents in youth basketball, had caught the attention of multiple NBA franchises.
The Warriors, known for their strategic approach to the draft and their ability to identify and develop talent, noticed Bronny’s potential for the future. “The Warriors appreciated Bronny’s s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 set and had him on their draft list,” sources said.
What could have been with Warriors will be with the Lakers
The Warriors could have selected Bronny and it would have been a bold move, also even thinking to entice LeBron James to sign there as a free agent, sources said. This strategic approach could have given the Warriors an advantage in Western Conference.
Despite the logic behind such a selection, the Warriors ultimately decided not to move forward. According to sources, they chose to respect the wishes of LeBron James, who has made clear his desire to support his son on his path to the NBA.
“But ultimately, the Warriors chose to respect the wishes James had made clear and the Lakers signaled they would grant it,” they said. Now it is time to develop Bronny James but who better at that than his own father.
