Warner Bros. has unveiled the latest installment in the Lord of the Rings saga, titled “Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” a film that will see the multi-talented Andy Serkis directing and reprising his iconic role as Gollum. Ken Kamins will serve as the executive producer, alongside Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish from The Imaginarium.
Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens expressed their excitement: “It is with great reverence that we return to the realms of Middle-earth alongside our esteemed collaborator, Andy Serkis, who is about to settle some unfinished business with the infamous Gollum! As lifelong aficionados of Professor Tolkien’s rich mythos, we are thrilled to join forces with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and the entire Warner Bros. team for another grand odyssey!”
Serkis, in his inimitable Gollum style, chimed in, “Yesssss, Precious! The time has come to embark once more into the uncharted territories with my dear comrades, the exceptional and matchless custodians of Middle-earth, Peter, Fran, and Philippa. With Mike, Pam, and the Warner Bros. team on this epic journey, in collaboration with WETA and our filmmaking kin in New Zealand, the anticipation is simply too delightful.”
