Shohei Ohtani’s favorite activity on flights with his Dodgers teammates has been revealed by Los Angeles star Freddie Freeman. Ohtani and Freeman have been teammates only for one season, with the Dodgers winning the World Series in dominant fashion last month.
During an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce‘s ‘New Heights’ podcast, Freeman detailed that Ohtani does the same thing on each flight, no matter how long the road trip.
‘The only thing I could say is, when he gets on the plane, he literally just reads comics the whole flight, like anime comics. And that’s what he reads all flight,’ the Canadian-American said.
Freeman did not say what Ohtani’s anime comic of choice is however, with plenty having a fan base in America.

Ohtani joined the Dodgers last season on a record-breaking $700million contract
Ohtani signed a 10-year, $700million contract last offseason, with $68million of his yearly contract to begin deferred.
The Japanese star is not hurting for cash, still making $2million per year and plenty in off-the-field brand deals.
Freeman also revealed Ohtani is happy to put his credit card down when the check comes at team meals.
‘We actually split the last one. We did a team dinner in New York, and yeah, Shohei and I split it with (Clayton) Kershaw.’
Where the team went is unclear, but knowing New York City prices for a nice meal, it would not have been a cheap outing.
The Dodgers are already heavily favored to repeat as baseball’s champions while pursuing Juan Soto in free agency.
