Elon Musk posted a tweet on social networks saying “Being a mother is as important as any profession”, mother Maye Musk affirmed. However, some people believe that fathers deserve equal, if not less, importance….

The Internet went on a hyperdrive when father of 10, Tesla boss and Earth’s billionaire in chief, Elon Musk tweeted something neither the far left nor the far right would have ever imagined he would say. Well he’s got a penchant for it. Musk’s tweets would usually comprise of some element of offense for folks across all spectrums of ideologies, including those on the fence. A dash of misogyny would feature too occasionally in forms of bashing the SWJs. So when he writes in ode and awe of mums, the internet was not having it. At Least not half of it. Poor chap merely wrote

“Being A Mom Is Just As Important As Any Career”

Twitterati went berserk. Here’s a handful of the vitriol with dollops of ‘Shut Up’ served.

Not everyone was dismissive. However a few rallied that dads too deserve equal significance, if not less.

The intent might be genuine, but my oh my how undervalued and underpaid is a woman who juggles a home, a husband and a bunch of li’l hooligans?!

Meanwhile, Musk’s mum Maye Musk chipped in with an affirmatory ‘Yes!’ She tweeted that being the mom of Elon, Kimbal and Toska is most important and that her career took wings once they all grew and became independent. Musk replied with a heart emoticon to mum’s endearing tweet.

However, the Internet again begged to disagree (as usual), with a few raising concerns about their overworked parenthood.

The grimmer side of the debate is that not every woman has the privilege to stay at home and help with the household and probably become a helicopter parent. Whilst every parent wishes to stay by their growing kids and enjoy the bliss of parenthood, unfortunately the world doesn’t cut a fair deal for every one. Career is important too when you have virtually no means to survive. Why are we even having this debate for heaven’s sake! Let the women decide. Let the men support!
