Marian Rivera expressed her happiness that she had the opportunity to work with her husband, Dingdong Dantes, on a new film. The actress admitted to the press present at the media conference earlier this week that she teared up after filming her last scene for Rewind.
Palagi ako looking forward kapag makakatrabaho ko si Dong. Siyempre, iba kami as mag-asawa sa bahay, iba pag magkatrabaho,” she said.
“One thing is for sure: mamimiss ko siyang katrabaho… Sabi ko looking forward ako ulit na makatrabaho ulit siya. Sobrang nakaka-in love pa rin talagang katrabaho si Dong,” she added.
Marian plays the character of Mary––a mother who is ready to give up everything including her dreams just for her family’s happiness. Meanwhile, Dingdong is set to portray the role of John––a workaholic who is a good provider for his family.
The Kapuso actress revealed that Rewind is one of her dream films and she is happy that she got to do it under Star Cinema. The project has been in the works since several years back but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
“Kahit nung mga draft yung pinapanood namin, tapos pinapanood nila sa’kin. Sinasabi ko kay Dong, ‘dad totoo ba to?’ kasi hindi nag sisink in sa’kin na ito na ba yun? Nakakaproud na nakagawa ako ng isang pangarap kong pelikula,” she said.
Meanwhile, Rewind screenwriter Enrico Santos admitted that the whole crew behind the film unanimously decided that there were no other options for Mary and John but Marian and Dingdong.
“We really had a long discussion. Siyempre, first choice––only choice––natin [sila]. Sinulat natin ito para sa kanila. Pag ganun ka-swak ang materyal, hihintayin ba natin or magplplano na tayo ng iba? The unanimous decision was that no one else could do it but Dingdong and Marian,” he said.
Rewind is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide starting on December 25. The official trailer that was released earlier this week has already reached 120,000 views on YouTube as of this writing.
