Man United willing to agree to £49.5 million signing; deal almost certain

Manchester United will play Champions League football next seasonand need to largely improve the quality of their squad to compete with the best teams in the tournament.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with South Korean center half, Kim Min-Jae, and the latest update suggests that the deal is close.

As per today’s version of Corriere dello Sport (news image provided below), it is almost certain that Kim will leave Napoli to move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

The famous Italian media outlet claim Man Utd are prepared to agree the £49.5million fee required to activate the release clause to sign the defender.

It is reported that the 20-time English champions will exercise the clause once the international window opens next month.

After Min-Jae is gone, the Naples based side will decide whether to move for Atalanta’s Scalvini or search for a replacement outside Italy.

At Old Trafford, the contracts of Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will expire later this month, on the other hand, Harry Maguire is linked with a move away from the club.

Therefore, the central defense must be improved this summer and Kim, who was the best defender in the Serie A last term, would be a top signing.

The 26-year-old mainly starts on the right side of the central defense, a position occupied by World Champion and four time CL winner, Raphael Varane at Man Utd.
