Louis Borrill and Yeridiana Chazares, a British couple, are facing a bill of £300,000 for medical and hotel expenses after their daughter, Lily Borrill, was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 prematurely in the United States while they were on vacation. The couple had travelled to Maryland for a surprise 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 shower, but Yeridiana was admitted to hospital the following day with what they thought was a strong flu.
After several hours of testing, the doctors determined that Yeridiana would not be able to leave the hospital, and they advised the couple to remain in the hospital until the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧, which occurred on August 6 at 8:18 a.m. Lily was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 three months premature, weighing just 1lb 11oz.
After the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, Lily needed to stay in the hospital for three to four months, resulting in significant medical expenses and hotel costs for the couple, who did not have medical insurance. Despite the difficulties, the doctors informed the couple that Lily was doing well and getting stronger every day, although she still needed to be monitored for several more months.
Louis expressed pride in his daughter’s fighting spirit and gratitude for Yeridiana’s strength during the ordeal. The couple is now facing a significant financial burden due to the unexpected medical expenses, but they are grateful for the care that Lily received and look forward to the day when they can take her back to their home in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.
