Over 40 Scholarship Offers: Brilliant Nigerian Boy Beats 2648 Graduates, Gets Honoured By US Universities

A young Nigerian boy named Achunike Okafor has emerged as the best-graduating student of Science Park High School, Newark in the United States (US). He also won scholarship offers to 40 top universities in the US.

Achunike Okafor, an 18-year-old Nigerian student, has achieved a remarkable 4.625 grade-point average and earned an International Baccalaureate diploma from Science Park High School in Newark, New Jersey, United States.

Okafor’s outstanding academic performance won him 40 scholarships from prestigious institutions such as Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Princeton, Penn State, Stanford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, and others.

Principal Darlene Gearhart of Science Park High School praised Okafor as an exceptional individual, highlighting his humility, drive, and dedication to learning.

Superintendent of Schools, Roger León, also recognized the student’s achievements, expressing pride for the school and the Newark community.

Okafor expressed his appreciation and emphasized the responsibility of being selected for such honours.

He’s quoted by RLS Media as saying; “I am grateful for the opportunities to attend such esteemed universities and to represent my family and community.

“I do not take lightly the privilege and responsibility to be among the few individuals selected for such honors.”

Okafor has set his sights on Harvard University to pursue a degree in neuroscience.

 

In addition to his academic achievements, Okafor played an active role in the school community.

He played a key role in establishing the Science Club, held leadership positions in multiple clubs and organizations, and actively engaged in extracurricular activities, including robotics and environmental clubs.
