• Tyronn Lue played with Michael Jordan on the Wizards, Kobe Bryant on the Lakers, and coached LeBron James on the Cavaliers

• Lue was asked to pick between MJ, Kobe, and LeBron on the show
Every generation will see certain all-time greats emerge. The ’60s had Jerry West and Bill Russell, followed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain. Michael Jordan came soon after and passed the torch to Kobe Bryant, who ultimately shared it alongside LeBron James for 13 years.

Tyronn Lue is one of the only people to have been in a locker room with MJ, Kobe, and LeBron. Naturally, that led to Matt Barnes asking Lue to rank the three greats on ‘All The Smoke’, a topic Lue decided to steer clear of.
Matt Barnes: “Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James. Rank them.”
Tyronn Lue: “Nope.”
Lue would have one of the most educated opinions on the subject, so he made the smart call by not commenting on that. These debates always generate fan interest, so an objective answer would lead to his words being twisted for talk show segments until training camp starts.
Appreciate Greatness Instead Of Comparing It
There are a lot of basketball fans that would say their top three of all time are MJ, LeBron, and Kobe, in whatever order they prefer. This is due to the ginormous mark all three stars have left on the game as individuals. Kobe and MJ were compared while the two were still playing and people keep trying to hold Kobe to the standards of MJ’s career, hurting the enjoyment of the legend’s incredible on-court accomplishments.
The same can be said for LeBron, who has been held to the Jordan standard ever since he was a rookie. He was also incessantly compared to Kobe in the 13 seasons they were both active in the league simultaneously. The three of them have always been compared and this likely won’t ever stop.
With Bron still on the court but heading towards his inevitable exit from the league, it’s time we just appreciate the accomplishments of these men. It’ll be better than holding their lowlights against them for agenda purposes.
